Ranger Minion Kills

There as been allot of discussion back and forth about Rangers "kiting" the wolves in Kallykie's. I have a level 68 Ranger and I don't have this ability. Most classes get the ability to kill a minion closer to level 60 if not before so I did some reading and found the following.


The Ranger "gets" minion kill IF they invest 25 points in the "Waylayer" feat tree. It has 3 ranks and imparts 1 chance per minute to kill a minion when used with the "Heartseeker" combo. IMO "a chance" is a help but its not a sure thing like a Demo or Necro minion kill!

There is no comparable feat in the "Sharpshooter" tree that can see.

Also, there seems to be a certain amount of confusion regarding the two ranger feat trees. The common belief is that one is for Crossbow and the other is for Longbow. If you read each feat you will see that most of them are not weapon specific. You would have to read them carefully though such as the Piercing stance in the waylayer feat tree which increases damage for column attack combos which is a Crossbow combo, but for the most part the feats seem to be interchangeable.

Perfect example is the Crossbow specialization which also imparts a sustantianl increase to your evade!
